Our co-coach for the Federal Way Masters team made
quite a name for herself this year among Washington State High School
swimming.
In just her second season at
Thomas Jefferson high school in Auburn, Washington, Wendy Neely coach the 4A
boys swim team to their first ever state title. With a roster
of just 11, the Patriots had only won three dual meets during their regular
season. Because of such a small roster, the team didn't have the depth
to score points.
By the time the district meet
rolled around, where depth isn't as important, the team placed second. Then
Jefferson won the 4A state championship.
Neely said getting through the dual-meet losses and
focusing on the big picture pushed her team. |
